025 Pastry Kiosk

a retail kiosk for a pastry shop.

Location: Pachuca, Mexico
Program: Retail
Project Team: Edgar Rodriguez, Alexis Ávila, José Juan Garay
Status: Concept
Year: 2016

  • The kiosk is composed of three independent islands, each serving a specific function to the pastry shop: exhibition, storage, and coffee bar. The islands are strategically positioned to optimize workflow and maximize space utilization.

The main architectural highlight of the kiosk is the incorporation of a metallic mesh curtain that elegantly wraps around the islands during the night when the shop is closed. This feature serves multiple purposes, such as providing security and creating a captivating display for passersby. The metallic mesh curtain not only protects the kiosk's interior but also acts as an artistic element, casting intriguing shadows and reflecting ambient light.

Overall, this project aims to deliver a visually striking and functional pastry shop mall kiosk, combining aesthetic appeal with practicality, while the metallic mesh curtain adds a touch of intrigue and security when the shop is closed.
